I'm sure many of the sexplorers among you have been watching Secret Diary of a Call Girl on ITV2. Despite the fact that neither single men or working girls can be admitted to Belle Baise parties, you can imagine how interested I was to watch the heroine (based on the anonymous blogger Belle de Jour) visiting an "exclusive sex party" with a client, and judging by the surge of people who found my site by searching for "sex parties" on Thursday, it would seem that lots of other people are interested too.
With glamorous guests, a beautiful location and not a minger in sight, it was a long way from most people's understanding of an orgy, but despite the Champagne, emphasis on the under-40s, and approval by photographs being required for entry, it was still a long way from a Belle Baise party.
For one, despite the grandeur of the London mansion the party took place in, the location seemed cold and rather unfriendly. This was possibly due to the strange blue lighting (though of course, the low lighting preferable for sex is not really possibly during filming) but also the guests didn't seem to be mingling or introducing themselves to each other, and in fact, many of them looked bored. Possibly because our venues are selected to accommodate a more intimate number of guests, the scene at a Belle Baise party would involve far more lively conversations and mingling (at least until the clothes came off). Those people who come to Belle Baise are always surprised at how easy it is to make new friends, which then makes the transition to playmates later in the evening far more comfortable.
Belle found herself playing the part of her client's girlfriend at the party, as swingers are rarely happy when single men buy the companionship of a woman in order to attend an event. While I have nothing against Belle and her former occupation, it is almost exactly the opposite to what Belle Baise offers; as Billie Piper in the role says, the role of an escort is to "work out what the client wants... and give it to him" whereas the Belle Baise ethos is focused on what the woman wants: we provide a playground for women to explore their sexuality, and they may, if they choose, bring a man with them. The idea of a man paying a woman to attend subverts our basic premise.
Luckily, it would be much more difficult for Belle's client to sneak into a Belle Baise party: our rigorous security would make it impossible for anyone to attend who was not prepared to give us verifiable address and identity information (and very sensibly, most escorts are unwilling to reveal their home address and real name when they are working). She would also have to memorise a lot more than just her fictional "boyfriend's" occupation, as the very social nature to our parties would make two strangers posing as a couple very difficult.
And finally, there was "the show". Really, if the guests at an orgy rush away from the action to watch a woman pop balloons to music, then the sex can't be up to much. We don’t lay on "entertainment" - our guests come to entertain themselves. If you want to see a real show, just take a peek into our playrooms.
